Technical Overview

ANSI/IEEE C57.12 — The Americas Standard

ANSI/IEEE C57.12 is the governing transformer standard for North and Latin America. Key differences from IEC 60076 include voltage class definition by BIL (Basic Impulse Level) rather than Um, 60 Hz frequency, and different standard voltage classes: 13.2 kV, 13.8 kV, and 34.5 kV are the most common in Latin America.

XinHuan produces ANSI/IEEE-configured oil-immersed transformers at 13.8 kV and 34.5 kV in a 60 Hz winding configuration. Test reports follow IEEE C57.12.90 format. Nameplates use ANSI conventions. Loss measurements are referenced to 85°C (vs 75°C for IEC).

XinHuan's 60Hz ANSI/IEEE Transformers units are manufactured strictly to IEC 60076 and GB/T 1094 standards (or ANSI C57.12 upon request). Every unit undergoes full factory routine tests: winding resistance, voltage ratio, phase displacement, short-circuit impedance, load/no-load losses, and separate-source AC withstand voltage.

To receive a firm EXW, FOB, or CIF quote within 24 hours, please provide: rated capacity (kVA), primary/secondary voltage, frequency (50Hz/60Hz), vector group (e.g. Dyn11), cooling method (ONAN/ONAF or AN/AF), and destination port.

Transformers are packed in fumigated export-grade wooden cases with waterproof moisture barriers and internal bracing. We support EXW (Hefei factory), FOB (Shanghai/Ningbo port), and CIF to any global destination port.
